Pre-Assessment Testing
Valley Medical Center requires that all applicants submit an online application in order to be considered for a position. Upon reviewing your application, you may be selected to take a pre-assessment test. Selection is based on education, recent and relevant work experience.
If you are selected to take the pre-assessment test, you will receive an invitation e-mail with all the detailed information. Selected candidates must pass the pre-assessment test for further consideration. If you do not pass the test, you must wait at least two (2) weeks before a re-take. If you do not pass the 2nd time, you must wait six (6) months before re-taking it again. Passing scores are valid for six (6) months.

ADMITTING REGISTRAR
There are two (2) parts to this assessment test.
Part I – This test consists of common admitting medical terminology and abbreviations. You must correctly spell at least 12 of 40 to receive a passing score.
Part II – This is a typing test and passing score must be at least 45 words per minute (WPM) with no more than five (5) mistakes.
ER MED SURG TECH / MST
This multiple choice test consists of 30 questions regarding patient care. You may miss up to six (6) to receive a passing score.
LPN
This test consists of 48 questions, ranging from medical terminology, multiple choice, and calculating medications. You are allowed to use a calculator for this test only. You may miss up to nine (9) to receive a passing score.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT
This test consists of 37 questions, ranging from medical terminology, abbreviations, multiple choice and calculations. You may miss up to seven (7) to receive a passing score.
NUTRITION REP
This is a typing test and passing score must be at least 35 wpm.
PCA/CNA
This multiple-choice test consists of 32 questions regarding patient care. You may miss up to eight (8) to receive a passing score.
BEHAVIORAL-BASED SURVEY
Finalist candidates will be invited to take a behavioral-based survey. This survey consists of 80-120 questions depending on the position and takes approximately 20 minutes.
