The borders of Public Hospital District Number 1 include the cities of Renton, Kent, and two-thirds of Tukwila, incorporating a population of around 400,000 people. Our area is among the fastest growing in the Puget Sound region. Valley Medical Center's sense of community ranges across other boundaries as well. We treat 75,000 people in our ER annually, making it one of the busiest on the West Coast. Over 300,000 visits will be made this year to one of our network of primary- and specialty-care clinics. Families and friends—spread across the state, the country, and even the world—represent other constituencies in a healthcare mission that is ever changing.
