Meet CEO Rich Roodman
Hospital Administrator/CEO
Rich Roodman came to Valley Medical Center in 1983 from Jane Phillips Episcopal Memorial Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Missouri and a Master's in hospital administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. During the 1990s he was named "Marketing Person of the Year" by Media, Inc. He also earned the 1990s Emerging Leader Award from the Association of Western Hospitals.
During Rich's administration, Valley Medical Center has been recognized by 3M Corporation and the magazine Healthcare Forum for innovation. VMC was also named a "Turnaround Hospital" by Modern Healthcare magazine. Rich has received awards and national recognition as a healthcare executive. He is also the author of a successful book on healthcare marketing.
Rich has lectured at regional and national symposiums. Over the years he has also participated in a number of civic groups in the hospital district area. He is active in Rotary and was recently named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. His wife and five children are his top priority. He enjoys jogging, biking, coaching soccer, movies, and sports.
