    Biography

    Dr. Leonheart graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1991. He subsequently completed a 3 year surgical reconstructive residency at The Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh/ The Western Pennsylvania Hospital. He has been the past Assistant Medical Director of the Western Pennsylvania Foot and Ankle Institute. He was also the Chairman of Surgery at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and the Residency director of the Podiatric Surgical Residency program at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Upon moving to Washington he has held the position of the Assistant Residency Director for the Franciscan Foot and Ankle Surgical residency program at St Francis. Prior to joining the Valley Medical Center team he was in private practice in Puyallup. Dr. Leonheart has been board certified in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.  He also currently serves on the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association executive board.

    Dr. Leonheart has interests in diabetic limb salvage, wound care and sports medicine but enjoys treating all foot and ankle problems. Outside interests include all types of athletic activity and exercise, home improvement projects and reading.
