    Amy Atwood, MD, received her medical degree from Sydney Medical School in Sydney, Australia, where she also interned at Royal North Shore Hospital. She completed her residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Phoenix Integrated Residency Program.

    As an obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Atwood most enjoys the opportunity to meet and care for women as unique individuals. She strives to be a good listener and places a priority on cultivating long-term relationships and supporting patients through life-changing and emotionally challenging events.

    Dr. Atwood believes women deserve compassionate and high-quality, holistic healthcare, and that they have the right to make educated and informed decisions about their health and their bodies. She is dedicated to providing excellent medical care and     to serving as an advocate for women.

    Biography

     

    Dr. Baghdassarian joined Valley Women’s Health Care in October 2012. He received his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at New York Medical College. Dr. Baghdassarian has an outstanding patient satisfaction rate and was ranked in the 100th percentile by Professional Research Consultants. 

    Dr. Baghdassarian provides care to women in all stages of life: contraceptive and menopause management, pregnancy care and preventive care. He also performs minimally invasive laparoscopic gynecological procedures, urogynecological and pelvic reconstructive surgeries. He is deeply committed to listening to his patients and educating them in order to provide the best possible medical care.

    In his off time, Dr. Baghdassarian enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, bike riding, tennis and skiing.

    As an Obstetrician, parent and grandparent, I recognize the importance of quality medical care for you and your unborn child.  I respect the trust that patients place in me as their physician and deliver their care in a warm and friendly manner.  I have been practicing obstetrics & gynecology in excess of twenty years, and have delivered thousands of children. Nevertheless, I still cherish the excitement and joy that parents experience at the birth of their child, and I feel privileged to participate in that experience.

    As a Gynecologist, I direct my care to my patient's problems and implement treatment plans that are directed at resolving their symptoms and concerns in a relaxed and friendly manner. I am Board Certified in my specialty and a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I am current on the latest technologies and I am experienced in major and minor surgery as well as office based procedures and treatment regimens.

    I have been married for over thirty years to my wife Regina.  We have two adult children and two grandchildren all who live in San Antonio, Texas. I enjoy golf, fishing and outdoor recreational activities in the Pacific Northwest as well as in our home state of Texas.

    Biography

    The focus of my medical practice is women's health: complete obstetric care and office gynecology. But as a family physician I bring a unique perspective to Valley Women's Healthcare. I recall my own years of childbearing and raising children with great fondness. As a result, I work hard to support young families through pregnancy and childbirth, providing medical care while discussing breast feeding, the complexities of parenting, and marital challenges that inevitably arise.

    Now that I am in mid-life myself, my interest in menopause and well woman care is increasingly acute! I encourage my patients to remember that midlife is not about looking younger, but rather about being healthy and vibrant as we grow in wisdom. I am interested in natural remedies and alternative therapies, particularly for midlife health issues. I appreciate my practice partners who provide surgical care for my obstetric and gynecologic patients when they need it.

    I work part time so that I can remain active in the lives of my two sons who are in high school and travel to visit my college age son and daughter as often as they'll have me. I'm grateful to my husband, David Schumer MD, for his ongoing personal and professional support.
