Biography
Michael Burke, MD, FACS received his medical degree from Creighton University. His General Surgery training was completed at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Northwestern University Affiliated Hospitals in Chicago. He is a Board Certified surgeon and a Fellow of American College of Surgeons. He is a member of Seattle Surgical Society and American College of Phlebology. Dr. Burke has practiced at Valley Medical Center since 1984 and served numerous terms as Chief of Surgery at VMC. He has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery and varicose veins, and is proficient with the da Vinci robot. In 2010, Seattle Metropolitan Magazine named Dr. Burke a Top Doc.
Dr. Burke is from a large Seattle family. His wife Kim and his three children enjoy tennis, golf, skiing, and fishing. Dr. Burke ran the Alaskan Iditarod trail in 2004-2005.
