Valley Medical Center Joins PACLAB Network

Partnership provides efficient and expedient laboratory benefits to physicians and patients

RENTON, WA - Valley Medical Center, the largest healthcare provider in South King County, and PACLAB Network Laboratories, the largest regional medical laboratory network in Washington State, today announced a contractual relationship between the two organizations to provide more efficient and expedient laboratory testing. Leaders of both organizations are looking toward achieving greater efficiencies for area physicians while handling greater volumes of patient laboratory examinations.

For patients in South King County this agreement will mean faster turn around time on test results.

“Valley Medical Center is an important addition to the broad network that PACLAB has been creating across Washington State since the mid-1990s,” said Stewart Adelman, PACLAB chief operating officer and general manager. “Our goal is to improve the working relationship between local providers, their patients and a communities’ hospital by providing high quality testing services locally.”

PACLAB began operations in November 1996 and has become Washington State's most comprehensive clinical laboratory network. PACLAB includes fourteen member hospitals, over a hundred patient service centers located throughout the Puget Sound and the largest esoteric testing laboratory in the Northwest, all combined to enable local testing efficiencies. PACLAB has seen tremendous growth while being recognized as one of the most successful regional lab networks in the country.

“As our hospital grows, so will the number of citizens we serve. The expertise and proven system that PACLAB brings to this partnership will result in better choices for both VMC physicians and independent physicians in South King County, and more satisfied patients” said Valley Medical Center’s Chief Executive Officer Rich Roodman. “We have found PACLAB’s services and capabilities to be an excellent match for the current and future needs of our public hospital and the citizens we serve.”
