Why Wait?

Valley Medical Center Reorganizes Clinic Facilities to Better Serve South King County
RENTON, WA - To improve access to services and decrease wait times, Valley Medical Center (VMC) is making significant changes to several of its primary and urgent care clinic locations. Renton Highlands Primary Care, North Benson Urgent Care (Renton) and Covington Primary and Urgent Care are all adding new medical providers to meet the growing demand for care and reduce the amount of time patients wait to be seen.
Urgent care service for the Highlands area will be transitioned to both Newcastle Urgent Care and Renton Landing Urgent Care beginning May 30, 2010. Both clinics are less than ten minutes driving time from the current location and will offer the same skilled urgent care you expect from Valley Medical Center. Like all Valley Medical Center clinics, both Newcastle and Renton Landing Urgent Care participate in the electronic medical records system, allowing physicians to instantly share and update your records to ensure continuity of care.
“We’ve experienced significant growth at Highlands Primary Care, and as a result wait times have been long, and we’ve had a tough parking situation,” said Paul Larson, Senior Vice President, Valley Medical Center Clinic Network. “Having two fantastic urgent care clinics within ten minutes allows us to relocate Highlands Urgent Care patients without a huge impact, so that we can expand our primary care services in that location and give our patients better parking access. We think everyone will be happy with the new arrangement.”
Valley Medical Center offers primary care in Covington, Kent, Newcastle, Renton (Cascade, Highlands and Fairwood), and Maple Valley (Lake Sawyer); urgent care is offered in Covington, Newcastle, and Renton (North Benson and The Landing).
