RENTON, WA - The Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey will be in the pink, or rather, on the pink on Saturday, October 8 when they host a GLOW “Hockey for Health” night benefitting women in need.
For the first time in ShoWare history T-bird ice will be pink to promote breast cancer awareness. Tickets for the October 8 game against the Victoria Royals are specially priced at $20, and the T-birds are generously donating up to $9 of each “GLOW ticket” to the Valley Medical Breast Center to provide mammograms for disadvantaged women in South King County. Additionally, the first 3,000 fans at the game will receive a limited edition pink GLOW T-birds cap.
“We are very grateful to the T-birds for supporting breast cancer awareness,” said Sherry Kuzan, Director of The Breast Center at Valley Medical Center. “We know how critically important early detection is – annual mammograms save lives – so the Thunderbirds organization is giving an enormous gift to the women in our community who could not otherwise afford one.”
To order tickets online go to valleymed.org/GlowTickets. After selecting seats, click “Apply Discount” and type in the promo code “GLOW”. Change your ticket price to $20 and proceed through the checkout process.
The sticks hit the ice at 7:05pm at the ShoWare Center in Kent.
