Valley Medical Center Recognized for Ninth Straight Year as a Best Place to Work

Renton, WA – April 22, 2010 – For the ninth straight year Valley Medical Center has been recognized by Seattle Business (and formerly Washington CEO magazine) as one of “Washington’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.” The specific rankings will appear in the July issue of the magazine.

Valley Medical Center (VMC), listed in the non-profit category, was selected from hundreds of employers in Washington State. This follows on the heels of being named to Modern Healthcare’s national “Top Ten Best Places to Work in Healthcare.”

“It is truly remarkable that for nine consecutive years we have made this prestigious list of Best Companies,” says Rich Roodman, CEO. “We have one of the highest retention rates among healthcare employers in the state and this honor shows that when an organization supports its employees, the employees will support the organization.”

Companies were judged on criteria ranging from communication to training to leadership. The data, mined from more than 10,000 employee surveys, was compiled by an expert panel of judges.

Each year, Seattle Business magazine salutes the Washington companies that are setting standards for leadership, strong benefits, work environment, innovative training programs, employee satisfaction and more. “These Best Companies to Work For awards recognize the companies that have a positive impact on Washington State through their employees,” reads a statement on its Web site.
