Bariatric / Weight Loss
About The Washington Bariatric & Weight Loss Center
Obesity is a serious disease with many issues. The Washington Bariatric & Weight Loss Center has pioneered a unique, comprehensive multidisciplinary program. It focuses on diet, exercise, mental health, surgery, and education in order to heal the whole patient and achieve long-term weight-management success.
There is often a strong genetic component to morbid obesity. This makes it difficult to overcome the disease through sheer willpower, diet, and exercise. The truth is that 95 percent of morbidly obese patients will be unable to lose the weight and keep it off. For these people, surgical treatment is a reasonable option. This kind of surgery is call bariatric surgery.
Teamwork, Honesty, and respect
The Washington Bariatric & Weight Loss Center team is committed to providing an environment in which patients are treated with the utmost respect.
Via ongoing support group programs and classes, patients become lifetime partners in helping each other through the emotional and social challenges of modifying and adapting to new behaviors surrounding food consumption and dietary management.
Effective August 11, 2008, the Washington Bariatric & Weight Loss Center has discontinued bariatric surgeries. Patients who have planned or scheduled surgeries should call 425.251.5111 to discuss referrals to other providers or other program questions.
The Washington Bariatric & Weight Loss Center will focus its efforts during the next few months around post-surgical patient care, including nutritional, exercise and clinical support.
