Patient Access can provide an estimate of many services and procedures. Please contact a Financial Advocate at 425.656.5599.
Please be advised, this will be an estimate of facility services to be rendered, based on your primary procedure. The final bill may be less or may exceed the estimate, depending upon actual services being rendered. You are financially responsible for all charges incurred. If you have any questions, please contact our Financial Advocates at 425.656.5599. Please Note: Charges from your physician or other physicians affiliated with the hospital are not included in this statement.
6. Does Valley Medical Center bill my insurance provider?
Yes, Valley Medical Center will bill your insurance carrier for services provided in our facility or in VMC clinics if complete billing information is provided. Any services provided by outside providers—surgeons anesthesiologists, pathologists, and/or radiologists—will be billed separately by the physician's billing office.
You may receive informational statements while your insurance company is processing your claim. In addition, you may receive a letter from Valley Medical Center or your insurance company if they require additional information to process your claim.
It is very important that you respond quickly to any request for information about your accident from your workman’s compensation or your healthcare insurance coverage provider.
If your visit is the result of a motor vehicle or non-work related accident:
You will be required to provide all automobile insurance or other third party liability information within 15 days. VMC will pursue payment for your care from that source before billing your healthcare insurance. Most healthcare insurance policies require that all third parties are billed before they will process your claims. (Valley Medical Center may elect to file a lien on any potential settlement that you may pursue as a result of your injury.)
If your visit is the result of a work related accident or illness:
Valley Medical Center will bill the Washington State Department of Labor & Industry, or other Employer Self Insured Workman’s Compensation programs. We will provide information about your accident and health status within the legally required time frames so that you can receive any time loss payments or other benefits associated with work related incidents.
If you have any questions regarding statements or bills received, please contact Hospital Patient Financial Services at 425-251-5178. We will be happy to assist in any way we can.
7. Does Valley Medical Center submit bills for patients who have insurance with which we do not contract?
VMC bills all insurances if complete billing information is provided.
8. Does Valley Medical Center offer a self-pay discount?
Yes, Valley Medical Center offers Uninsured & Prompt Pay discounts. Please see Discount Options for terms of eligibility and a detailed listing of available discounts.
9. What other bills may I receive for services received at Valley Medical Center?
Valley Medical Center will bill your insurance carrier for services provided in our facility. Any services provided by a physician (surgeon, anesthesiologist, pathologist and / or Radiologist) will be billed separately by the entity's billing office. Many doctors, ambulance companies, and labs are separate businesses with their own billing and account procedures. These physicians are not Valley employees and may/or may not participate in the same healthcare insurance contracts or financial assistance programs. If you receive a bill from them and have questions, please contact them directly.
10. Does Valley Medical Center charge a fee for returned checks?
Currently VMC charges a $20.00 Returned Check Fee for any checks or credit / debit card transactions returned for non-sufficient funding.
