Information & Specialties

Emergencies

If you have a life-threatening emergency call 911.

Please note that if your situation turns out not to be life-threatening it is possible your insurance company will cover only part of the costs of an Emergency Department visit. Whenever possible, consult the office of your primary-care clinicians to obtain a referral for emergency care. Please visit our Emergency Services page to learn more about our ER, the admitting process, payment, consent for treatment of children and other information.

Walk-in, After-Hours Care

For ailments that aren't life or limb, VMC's urgent care clinics eliminate the wait and expense of the ER, and offer immediate access to healthcare when you need it. Enjoy walk-in appointments and after-hours care for acute illness, minor injuries, drug screens, flu shots, physical exams, pregnancy tests, back strain, x-rays and other ambulatory services.

Look up an urgent care clinic now, otherwise, a consulting nurse or physician may be able to help you in the event of an urgent-care need that occurs after regular clinic or business hours. If you have an urgent medical need that cannot wait, call your clinic's main number. Clinic voicemail will tell you what to do.

Primary Care

Primary care - or family medicine - provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for everyone in the family: babies, toddlers, teens, adults, the elderly, and pregnant women. Whether a family practitioner, an internist, an obstetrician-gynecologist or a pediatrician, your VMC primary care provider monitors your general health, addresses many medical concerns directly at the clinic office, and will refer you to specialists and surgeons when necessary.

Hospital Care

In the event you require hospitalization your primary-care clinician will arrange for you to be admitted to Valley Medical Center or to Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. You can register online prior to your admission.

Clinic Appointments

Check Find a Clinic for the clinic nearest you for information about obtaining an appointment. You can register online at some clinics.

Prescriptions

For routine refills please call your pharmacy at least 3 days prior to your last dose. The pharmacy will contact us for authorization.

Lab Results

You will be notified of lab results within 3 weeks. In the event a test result is abnormal, we will contact you to explain the findings over the phone.
