BodyWorks Teen Health Education

Family outside their home BodyWorks is a free health education program developed by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services. This eight-week program is designed to provide parents and caregivers of young people ages 9 to 16 with tools to improve family eating and activity habits.

BodyWorks focuses on parents as role models and includes a video on healthy shopping and cooking strategies, a recipe book, and food and fitness journals. The program focuses on making small behavior changes for maintaining healthy weight. Daughters and sons are encouraged to attend along with parents or caregivers.

Sessions are sponsored by the Valley Medical Center Medical Staff.

Teens & parents: attend eight FREE Tuesday evening sessions (6:30 – 8 PM). (We request that parents or caregivers commit to attending all eight meetings.) Questions? Call Joanne Montzingo at 206.498.9523.
