    Biography

    Michael Burke, MD, FACS received his medical degree from Creighton University.  His General Surgery training was completed at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Northwestern University Affiliated Hospitals in Chicago.  He is a Board Certified surgeon and a Fellow of American College of Surgeons.  He is a member of Seattle Surgical Society and American College of Phlebology.  Dr. Burke has practiced at Valley Medical Center since 1984 and served numerous terms as Chief of Surgery at VMC. He has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery and varicose veins, and is proficient with the da Vinci robot. In 2010, Seattle Metropolitan Magazine named Dr. Burke a Top Doc.

    Dr. Burke is from a large Seattle family.  His wife Kim and his three children enjoy tennis, golf, skiing, and fishing.  Dr. Burke ran the Alaskan Iditarod trail in 2004-2005.

    Biography

    Dr. Hunter attended medical school at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (now Midwestern University of the Health Sciences).  After working in emergency rooms around New Mexico, she completed her OB/GYN residency at Monmoth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey.

    Dr. Hunter's gynecology practice focuses on minimal invasive surgery and procedures for women with special interests in robotic surgery, menopausal medicine and women's healthcare.  Her free time is spent with her two dogs, two cats, two horses, as well as travel and hiking.

    Dr. Rice is originally from San Diego, California. He has been practicing obstetrics and gynecology since 1981 and has lived in King County since 1990. He is both a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the International College of Surgeons. In addition to general obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Rice has a special interest in gynecological and urological surgery.     Philosophy of Care

    I endeavor to provide a holistic, thoughtful, and dedicated level of care to women with or at risk for gynecologic cancers and their families. As a gynecologic oncologist, I am fortunate to be in the unique position of being able to provide comprehensive, personalized care. Whether a condition calls for surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation treatment, I aim to be the primary care provider for a woman's oncologic concerns. Having completed training in advanced surgical techniques (including robotic surgery), radical abdominal procedures, and cutting-edge research, my goal is to treat my patients with the most current, effective, and state-of-the-art treatment options available.

    Personal Interests

    My wife Jennifer and I enjoy living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with our three children. We are active and love the outdoors - hiking throughout the Northwest, spending time on Lake Washington whenever we can, and snowboarding here and in Colorado with Jennifer's family. I also enjoy playing and watching most sports, including basketball and tennis, and can regularly be found in basketball league or pick-up games.
