The Joint Center

Orthopedic Services

Orthopedic surgeons provide medical and surgical treatment of spine, shoulder, head, hip, knee, foot, ankle, leg, arm, and hand disorders of the musculoskeletal system. They also take care of trauma, including sprains, strains, contusions, broken bones, sports injuries, arthritic conditions, infections, metabolic disorders, and tumors. These doctors coordinate your care with other physicians, including family practice, internal medicine, general surgeons, radiologists, and other subspecialties for comprehensive coverage.

Here at Valley Medical Center, the Orthopedic Services department provides extensive coverage of all types of musculoskeletal problems. Starting with the emergency room, there is always (day and night) an orthopedist available to assist the ER physician with emergent and urgent orthopedic problems.

Valley Medical Center provides excellent facilities for your surgery and pre- and postoperative care. For example, The Joint Center was developed as a separate hospital wing to optimize postoperative rehabilitation of patients receiving total joint replacements. Well-qualified physical therapists are there to assist the orthopedic doctors in helping patients recover and return to normal life. The orthopedists consult with a state-of-the-art radiology department for imaging, such as X-ray, CT scan, MRIs, and bone scans, to diagnose and treat these types of problems.

Orthopedic surgeons care for all types of injuries, arthritis problems, neck and back conditions, infection, osteoporosis, and sports medicine concerns.
