Rhea Coquia Smith, Pharm.D., CDE, believes in empowering her patients through collaborative practice with patients, provider, and community. With passion in teaching, Rhea aims to teach her patients the tools they will need to succeed in managing their disease from lifestyle intervention to therapeutic decision making. She believes that through partnership with her patients and their providers, therapeutic goals will be achieved. She has a strong interest in diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, and medication management of polypharmacy.
Rhea completed her doctorate of pharmacy from University of Washington in 2007 and completed post-graduate pharmacy residency at University of Washington Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center in 2008. She is a certified diabetes educator and is a clinical faculty at University of Washington School of Pharmacy. Her passion in teaching has earned her several recognitions as awarded preceptor at University of Washington pharmacy residency program, Valley Medical Center pharmacy residency program and University of Washington School of Pharmacy. When away from clinic, Rhea enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband creating memories, baking, and hosting family and friends at home. Mindfulness, traveling, quality culinary experiences and recreations are also part of her passions.
