Bethany McKinney, ARNP, DNP, started her gastroenterology nursing career in 2008 working at Tacoma General Hospital. She completed her bachelor of science in nursing at University of Washington in Tacoma. Bethany continued to build RN experience in gastroenterology and hepatology while pursuing graduate studies in Seattle. She earned a doctorate of nursing practice from University of Washington in Seattle. Bethany completed clinical training at Swedish Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center. She holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Bethany emphasizes making patients feel comfortable. She believes in helping patients make informed decisions about their health and she acts as a patient advocate by listening closely to understand patient needs and concerns. Bethany treats her patients the way she would want someone to treat her own family. Bethany grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL but has called Seattle “home” since 2008. Her interests outside of work include hiking, walking the dog, spending time with family, traveling, and camping.
