Brian Ostler, MD is a family medicine physician at Valley Family Medicine. After graduating from high school, he spent two years working as a missionary in Mexico City, where he learned Spanish and developed a love for helping others. These experiences drew him to medicine where he could work with patients to improve their quality of life. He later attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah to complete a bachelor’s degree in physics. It was here that he met his wife and they eventually had two children. They moved to Dallas, Texas so he could attend medical school at University of Texas. He spent a large amount of time in both private and community hospitals and was exposed to the social determinants of health. This expanded his interest in providing better care to the underserved as well as his love of different cultures and ways of life.
Dr. Ostler is thrilled to be working at Valley Medical Center, where he can continue to learn and provide the best care for all, including people with diverse backgrounds. Some of his special interests include obstetrics, pediatrics, addiction medicine, and integrative medicines. When he’s not taking care of patients, he spends as much time as possible with his wife and four children. He also enjoys exercising, cooking vegan meals, baking, hiking, biking, and playing any and all varieties of board and card games.
