About our ER

What to expect as a patient in our Emergency Room
How are ER wait times calculated?
The Emergency Department is an unpredictable environment that can change minute by minute. Patients arriving at our ER are triaged or evaluated for severity of injury. The most severe and life-threatening cases are treated first. Treatment begins when a patient is placed in a room. Wait times shown represent a rolling average of the previous 3 hours for all patients currently visiting our Emergency Department. Actual times may vary, depending upon severity of injury, time of day and staffing.

Time is of the Essence

Call 911 for these conditions:
  • Stroke: Sudden dizziness, numbness or paralysis, difficulty seeing or speaking, or loss of consciousness
  • Heart Attack: Chest pain with pressure sensation or pain radiating into jaw, teeth, shoulder or back; or palpitations with dizziness; or shortness of breath, sweating and/or nausea or vomiting
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Seizure
