Nicola Rentschler, MD, is a family medicine physician at Valley Family Medicine. She was born in Boston, but spent the first several years of her life living in England and other parts of Europe before ultimately returning to Massachusetts for college. She attended Wellesley College, where she majored in Russian. She was drawn to family medicine while working as a medical assistant in a family practice prior to medical school. She valued the long-term relationships she formed with patients, their families, and appreciated the holistic approach in patient management. After completing her pre-medical studies at the University of Virginia, she traveled to Australia, ultimately graduating from medical school at University of Queensland. She also spent two clinical years at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr Rentschler’s particular interests in medicine include women’s health and obstetrics, which she plans to include in her practice after residency. She is enjoying the Pacific Northwest and generally spends her free time rowing, hiking, cycling, and being outdoors.
