Prenatal Water Exercise Class

**Note: this class is temporarily suspended due to the pandemic. 
The Fitness Center at Valley Medical Center has a water exercise class designed just for expectant mothers. It includes low-level aerobics, gentle stretching, muscle conditioning, and relaxation exercises.

This non-weight-bearing exercise is easier on your body, and the class gives you a chance to meet other expectant mothers.

Sessions are held at the Fitness Center pool, which is 4 feet deep and maintained at a very comfortable 84°F.

Enrollment information: To ensure a spot in the class, preregister by filling out and mailing an Prenatal Enrollment Form. For your safety, we also require a Prenatal Medical Clearance form from your physician. 

Note: The class is not open to women who are expecting twins or other multiple births, because exercise during multiple-birth pregnancies is not advised by either the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) or the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

What to bring: We recommend you choose footwear such as rubber-soled water shoes for extra stability in the pool and on the pool deck. A plastic water bottle will help you get plenty of fluids during class.
