The Desimone Levee on the Green River failed and is under repair. The hospital is above the flood zone and currently in no danger of flooding. We evacuated our Time Square and Kent Station Clinics and our Lind Avenue locations. Several locations are experiencing staffing issues due to severe traffic impacts. Impacted patients are being contacted to reschedule appointments. Please be safe, do not drive or walk through standing water, and call 9-1-1 if you need emergency evacuation assistance.

Valley Medical Center is partnering with Valley Girls & Guys, a local 501(c)3 non-profit led by cancer-fighting warriors for the inaugural Be the Hope Walk on July 20 in Maple Valley. For more than a decade, Valley Girls & Guys have helped raise millions of dollars to fight cancer globally. Now they are focusing that support right here in our own community to help provide funds for local treatment, local research and local patient assistance. In fact, last year Valley Girls & Guys pledged $500,000 in support of Valley's new Cancer Center and the patients we care for. Valley has formed a team, the HOPE Brigade, for the Be The Hope Walk and we'd love for you to join us!
Medical Volunteers
We need two more providers (MD, DO, ARNP, PA) for the afternoon shift (1-4 PM) to be available for basic medical care, which may include sprains, strains, cuts, bumps, bruises, ice, mild dehydration, etc. We are working closely with EMS who will be handling any life-threatening emergencies. To sign up as a volunteer or if you have questions, contact Betsy Kirichenko, Community Outreach Coordinator, at Betsy_Kirichenko@valleymed.org or 690.6772.
Participants: Pick from three options to be a part of Maple Valley history:
1. Walk 18 miles which represents the statistic that 1 in 8 will develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. This is not a race, but a journey. It's a way to show support, get to know our neighbors and participate in a worthy cause that touches many of us. The fundraising commitment is $1,800 per walker.

2. A 1.8 mile walk for those undergoing treatment, family members, supporters, EVERYONE from toddler to 100+ years of age are welcome! Fundraising commitment - $180 per walker.

3. Virtual walk. Support the cause and walk 1.8 or 18 miles in your own community. Fundraising commitment is $80 per walker.
The ROUTE: We will be making our way through beautiful Maple Valley with rest stops, medic stations and break points in and around Lake Wilderness Park, Summit Park and even the Maple Valley Farmer's Market. Organizers encourage walkers to interact with the community and local businesses all along the way.
The CELEBRATION: After the walk STAY AND PLAY. Enjoy live music, beer & wine garden, food trucks, vendors and an unforgettable closing ceremony!
