On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are assessing the impact and we are in the process of water abatement. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline which could increase wait times. Some surgeries are also being rescheduled.
During our high census of COVID-19 patients, we changed the workflow of how the Call Crews and Surgery Scheduling occurred after hours. Thank you for calling the Surgery Charge RN during this time.
Starting Sunday June 28, we will resume our pre-COVID workflow of notifying the CAR, x4498 to activate call crews and schedule after-hours cases.
We are exploring options for how we could schedule urgent cases differently in the future. We welcome ideas from anyone who has suggestion or comments for how we could improve this process for everyone. If you have any thoughts to share on this topic, please contact Stephanie_Lilje@Valleymed.org
