"I have been in the hospital for 10 days with a serious abdominal infection. Becky was my wound care nurse. She treated me with kindness, dignity, and respect. She was always warm and caring. She made all the difference in my stay at Valley. She took her time with me and explained all the procedures to ease my fears. She was gentle and thorough. "Becky works well with members across the healthcare team. She has received several patient compliments for her kindness and her caring. She takes time to individualize her care to meet the learning needs of patients with newly placed ostomies to ensure they and their family members have the competence and confidence in managing their care when they return home. She co-leads the Skin Champion program and co-facilitates the Ostomy and Wound vac class which develops our frontline nurses' knowledge, skills and abilities in skin and wound assessment, pressure ulcer prevention, and care for patients with ostomies and wound vacs. She also co-leads our quarterly Pressure Injury Prevalence surveys. She actively participates in Root Cause Analyses, sharing her knowledge and expertise to help the organization identify contributing factors related to patient care concerns. Becky truly loves what she does, and it shows."
