Physician Assistant Week 2023
We want to recognize our physician assistants for Physician Assistant Week, held last week (October 6-12). Physician assistants/physician associates (PA) serve as primary care providers, assist in surgery, and practice across a range of specialties. They are licensed clinicians who practice medicine in every specialty and setting at every step of the healthcare experience, from diagnosis to prescription to ongoing monitoring and treatment.
Established in 1967, the PA profession currently has around 159,000 practitioners in the U.S., engaging in more than 500 million patient interactions each year. Trusted, rigorously educated and trained healthcare professionals, PAs are dedicated to expanding access to care and transforming health and wellness through patient-centered, team-based medical practice.
