On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are working hard to repair damage as quickly as possible. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline, which can increase wait times. Apologies for any inconvenience you may experience.

Valley Launches Blue Band Banner Initiative for Pre-Eclampsia

Author: Gillian Batchelder, Ambulatory Quality Manager

On May 5, Valley launched the result of our BI includes identifying our patients at risk for pre-eclampsia and standing up a flag system in our Epic EHR that helps staff and providers identify these patients at increased risk for complications in pregnancy.

These flags are engaged only when a VMC OB provider enters the codes for both a pregnancy episode and the risk or signs/symptoms of pre-eclampsia. The flag can be engaged only from gestational week 20 through postpartum week 6, after which it will fall off automatically. In support of the BBBI, updated Clinical Care Pathways have also been posted to the website here:  Perinatal Clinical Care Pathways

For any questions about the BBBI, please contact Cindy Leyva or Gillian Batchelder.
