On April 22 we had a pipe elbow failure in our Emergency Department (ED) causing a significant water leak. Crews are working hard to repair damage as quickly as possible. Our ED is open, but several rooms are currently offline, which can increase wait times. Apologies for any inconvenience you may experience.

Author: Valley Emergency Management Committee

Seattle’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup this summer is expected to create prolonged regional operational impacts across healthcare systems between June 15 and July 6.

Valley is actively participating in healthcare coalition coordination, EMS planning, and regional situational awareness activities in preparation for increased system strain, transportation disruption, and potential patient redistribution scenarios.

Preparations underway include:

  • Surge and bed management planning
  • EMS coordination and transfer monitoring
  • Transportation disruption contingencies
  • Downtime and cybersecurity readiness
  • Staffing contingency planning
  • Situational awareness communications

Clinicians are encouraged to review preparedness resources and stay informed regarding operational updates during the tournament period.

We will be sharing information on the MyValley SharePoint page for staff and our public website at valleymed.org/worldcup2026 for patients, visitors, and community partners.

If you have questions or concerns about the tournament or Valley’s response, please email Command_Center@valleymed.org.
