    Shahina Banthanavasi, MD, MHA, has worked at Valley Medical Center since 2006 and currently serves as the Senior Medical Director of Hospitalists. She was elected in 2020 to serve as Valley Medical Center’s Chief of Medical Staff for a two-year term.

    Dr. Banthanavasi received her medical degree from Government Kilpauk Medical College in India. She then completed her Internal Medicine training at Internal Medicine Spokane, affiliated with University of Washington School of Medicine, and also received her Master of Health Administration degree from University of Washington.     Julie Cella, MD, has an interest in complex chronic disease management, acute medical illnesses, and the coordination of systems (hospitals, clinics, care facilities, social services, families, etc.) needed to achieve optimal health and recovery. She is board-certified in internal medicine and has broad experience in both ambulatory and hospital settings.

    Dr. Cella completed her medical school and residency training at University of Washington in Seattle. She has worked as both a hospitalist and primary care provider in academic and community settings.     Sydney Cousin, MD, PhD has served at Valley Medicine Center as a hospitalist since 2011. He has a special interest critical care, infectious disease and comprehensive patient-centered corradiated care. Dr. Cousin has been named the Provider of the Quarter and twice the Provider of the Month since working at Valley Medical Center. He is excited about the practice of compassionate medicine and looks forward to caring for his patients like family.

    Dr. Cousin received his medical degree from University of Washington School of Medicine & his doctoral degree from University of Washington Graduate School in Molecular and Cellular Biology.     Travis D’Souza, MD was raised in Washington state, and serves as a hospitalist at Valley Medical Center. Dr. D’Souza has a broad interest in taking care of all medical problems but particularly enjoys critical care medicine.     Biography

    Victor Estacio, MD joined the hospitalist team at Valley Medical Center in 2013. His professional passions include the application of evidence-based medicine and patient empowerment to make informed decisions about their own healthcare. Dr. Estacio also values hospital-based interventions such as early mobilization to improve outcomes as well as post-discharge quality of life. Acute volume management in decompensated heart failure, renal failure, and decompensated end-stage liver disease are some of his special interests.

    Dr. Estacio obtained his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degree from University of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines, graduating within the top 10 of his medical school class. He joined his family in the United States after his graduation, where he trained in internal medicine for three years at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Estacio moved to the Seattle area with his wife, where he provided care with Southlake Clinic before joining Valley Medical Center.

    Biography

    Judith Fleming, MD moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2006 where she began practicing as a hospitalist at Valley Medical Center. Although she went into private practice for several years, she maintained her affiliation with Valley Medical Center and was elected Vice Chief of Internal Medicine. Seattle Metropolitan Magazine named Dr. Fleming a Top Doc in 2016. Dr. Fleming returned full time to Valley Medical Center in 2017 as a nocturnist, or night hospitalist.

    Dr. Fleming received her medical degree from University of California at Irvine and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children and variety of rescued animals.     J. Taylor Gabriel, MD is a hospitalist with special interests in critical care, population health, and the blossoming role of technology in medicine. He places a strong emphasis on empowering his patients to be the primary drivers of their health and wellbeing.

    Dr. Gabriel grew up in Texas, attending St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas prior to completing his medical degree at University of Texas at Houston.     Biography

    Eduardo Margo, MD has provided care as a hospitalist at Valley Medical Center since 2019 after a long career at UW Medicine | Northwest Hospital. At Valley Medical Center, Dr. Margo serves as the Medical Director for Value Management. In the role, he partners with other key leaders to ensure success of VMC’s value-based initiatives.
