Jennie Davis, DO, is board certified neurologist and movement disorder specialist. She earned a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton,Florida, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida. Dr Davis completed an internal medicine internship and three years of neurology residency training, followed by one year sub-specialty fellowship training in movement disorders at Medical College of Georgia.
She has sub-specialty training in the diagnosis and management of conditions with either a paucity or excess of movement. This encompasses a wide variety of conditions like Parkinson's disease, tremor, dystonia, ataxia, and tics.
Dr Davis also has sub-specialty training in DBS patient selection and programming and offers surgical options such as deep brain stimulation (DBS) which help reduce medications and improve symptoms.
In addition, she specializes in botulinum toxin injections for blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, cervical dystonia, and spasticity.
Her approach to management of Parkinson's disease is tailored to each patient. Dr Davis recognizes the importance of addressing both the motor and non-motor features of Parkinson's disease to improve quality of life.
Dr Davis' other sub-specialty interests include dementia, post-stroke care, and management of post-stroke spasticity.
