Provider Bio

Greta Bernier, MD, FACS, FASCRS is a board-certified colon & rectal surgeon with expertise in robotic and advanced minimally-invasive surgery. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Colon & Rectal Surgeons. She is often asked why she chose this specialty. She chose colon & rectal surgery because of her desire to care for a wide spectrum of patient diseases, from cancer to inflammatory bowel disease to anorectal disease, and because of her commitment to advanced minimally-invasive and robotic surgery. She is always looking for ways to improve the care of our patients and their outcomes after surgery. As a Robotic Surgeon of Excellence, she is dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care and continually updating her surgical skills.

Dr. Bernier went to medical school and general surgery residency at University of Washington. She then traveled to Tampa to complete her fellowship in colon & rectal surgery at University of South Florida. Here at Valley, she serves as the Chief of Surgery and the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery. She is honored to be a part of the Valley community of caring providers and wonderful patients.

In her spare time, Dr. Bernier enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and two daughters, and her friends. She particularly enjoys skiing, camping, anything that involves being on the water, and rooting for our Seattle sports teams!
