Dr. Kumasaka is a native Washingtonian. He grew up in West Seattle, went to University of Washington for undergraduate studies in Biology and medical school, graduating from medical school in 1988. He trained in Internal Medicine at Providence Medical Center, Portland and Virginia Mason Medical Center before returning to UW to complete his training in Dermatology. Prior to joining Valley in 2001, he practiced at Virginia Mason in Federal Way. He remains on the clinical faculty at UW Medical School and has served as the president of the Pacific Northwest Dermatological Society.
Dr. Kumasaka is board-certified in dermatology. His interests are in medical dermatology. This includes diagnosis and treatment of rashes, skin cancers and other conditions of the skin, hair and nails. He treats adults as well as children.
Dr. Kumasaka lives in Seattle with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys the outdoors, golfing, skiing and playing tennis.
