Provider Bio

As a first-generation Palestinian-American, I was raised in a bilingual household in the suburbs of Minneapolis. After earning admission to the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I was directly admitted to the Computer Science and Engineering program. During this time, I volunteered closely for people with disabilities as a personal trainer while studying nutrition on the side. Because of these experiences, I switched degrees to Nutritional Science with the intention to pursue medicine, so I may continue to serve people from underserved communities. My extracurriculars at this time included creating a student organization that continues to advocate and volunteer for people with disabilities, tutoring in physiology, and working as a bartender and inpatient/outpatient phlebotomist. After graduation, I worked as a team-lead phlebotomist during the COVID-19 Pandemic and earned admission to Medical School at A.T. Still University - SOMA.

Although our first year of medical school was in Arizona, I spent the last 3 years rotating throughout Washington state at community health centers and hospitals. A contribution to our community I am most proud of during this time is when my peers and I conducted a Quality Improvement project to identify perceived gaps of care during refugee clinic intake after Washington state refuged many displaced people from Afghanistan.

From delivering a baby, to managing diabetes, helping a patient in the hospital heal from their bout of pancreatitis, and intubating a crashing patient in the ED, I loved all of my rotations and was eager to learn all that I could during Medical School. I chose Family Medicine to continue to “do and learn it all”, all while affording me the unique opportunity to customize my future career in medicine. Valley Family Medicine’s “Clinic First” program is one I am eager about, as I can continue to maintain relationships with my patients while learning from our residency’s diverse rotations. My specific interests in medicine include office-based procedures, hospital medicine, and emergency medicine.

Currently, my fiance and I live together with our 2 cats (Flapjack and Jojo). We enjoy hiking, going to the farmers market, watching anime, PC gaming, and meeting up with friends for ping pong! For my personal interests and hobbies, you can find me weightlifting or competing in Trading-Card-Game tournaments, where I have earned past invites to the annual national tournament.
