Aaron Fang, MD, Hospitalist Service

VMC Provider of the Month, April 2019

Congratulations to Hospitalist Aaron Fang, MD, Valley's April 2019 Provider of the Month. Dr. Fang is lauded for being inspirational, for leading by example, and for delivering excellent care. He collaborates effortlessly and he genuinely cares about both his patients and his peers. He doesn't hesitate to offer praise or thanks to floor nurses and his positive attitude is infectious. As his nominator writes, "Rounding on the unit is always enjoyable when he is on. Without fail, I find that his patients are well-informed and well-cared for. He has a definitive impact on our patients and the unit, and I really appreciate what he brings to this organization. Providers like Dr. Fang remind me why I got in to healthcare in the first place—to help those in need."

Sarah was selected for the 2019 Distinguished Practitioner Award by the UW School of Nursing. She was honored at the 2019 Nurses of Influence Banquet in April. The nominator comments spoke highly of her:

“[Sarah] brings an unparalleled sense of calm, taking the time to explain what happened to patients in the hospital and fully explain imaging and test results. Her open communication and listening ear allows patients to open up and explain their feelings and to focus on functional recovery.”

“Watching Sarah in her practice reminds me of why I became a nurse. She knows the secret to stroke patient success and preventing further strokes and complications.”

Paula Luedke, PA-C, Retiree, Urgent Care Medicine

NOTE: Paula started at Valley at Cascade Primary Care and then transitioned to Urgent Care where she finished her career. Here are some words from her colleague Dr. Bob Thompson:

“Paula Luedke’s deep love for and commitment to her patients has been evident from the first day I met her in 1994. She has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a primary care and urgent care clinician, driven by her willingness to always give the utmost effort to offer the very best care possible to every patient every time. She has been a role model and mentor to fellow clinicians and staff alike, always willing to give of her time and unlimited energy to help whenever and however she can. Regardless of their stature or circumstances, Paula’s patients knew that their lives mattered to her. Paula never seemed to have a bad day, never lost her cool, never failed to answer the call and always worked until the work was done.

“I am so pleased that Paula is moving on to continue her other career as the best grandma her grandchildren could have ever hoped for, the most devoted mother and supportive mother-in-law and the perfect companion and friend (husband) Jerry could have every wanted.

“God bless you Paula. We love you and wish you only the very best for what your remarkable life will have to offer you in the years ahead.”
