Mickey Kander, PA-C, MSW, MPH, is especially interested in whole patient care that addresses more than physical ailments alone. He is a graduate of the University of Washington’s Physician Assistant Program. Before becoming a physician assistant, Mickey was a clinical social worker and public health professional. His social work experience taught him that each patient is unique, and an expert in their own care. From public health, he learned that health care is ideal when there is evidence to support what works best.
His interests include pediatrics, mental health, LGBTQ treatment and preventive care. When he is not in clinic, Mickey can be found spending time with his husband, writing short stories, or baking. He also volunteers frequently for an organization that provides health support to villagers in rural Guatemala and provides care at a homeless youth clinic in Seattle. Someday, he hopes to own a cocker spaniel and learn how to crochet.
