Specialty Spotlight: Cardiology at Valley
When your patients need cardiovascular expertise, Valley Medical Center & Clinics offers a broad range of cardiology services, from prevention and diagnosis to advanced interventional and electrophysiology care.
Improved access to diagnostic testing also creates an opportunity to refer patients to Valley. Current cardiology ancillary access, including echocardiography and stress tests, is approximately two weeks. Valley’s Cardiology team is currently onboarding two new radiology support RNs and recruiting for two open positions to maintain smooth access for patients.
Two new MDs joined the Cardiology Clinic this month, after Dr. Rajib Choudhury retired this summer, which is expected to help increase access on the clinic side in the coming weeks.
Comprehensive care for a wide range of cardiovascular needs
Valley’s cardiology team evaluates and manages patients with conditions and risk factors including:
- Coronary artery disease and atherosclerosis
- Heart failure
- Arrhythmias
- Heart valve disease

- Dyslipidemia

- History of myocardial infarction
Our noninvasive cardiology services include echocardiography, treadmill and stress testing, Holter and event monitoring, nuclear medicine studies and ECG testing, providing referring providers with multiple options for evaluating suspected or known cardiovascular disease.
Advanced interventional cardiology
When patients need more than medical management, Valley’s four cardiac catheterization labs provide diagnostic and interventional services, including cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and stenting, intravascular ultrasound and iFR measurement. Transradial access is available for appropriate procedures, offering an approach that can support quicker recovery and patient comfort.
Electrophysiology close to home
Valley’s electrophysiology program provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, ventricular tachycardia, PVCs and bradycardia.
The EP team performs procedures including catheter ablation, pacemaker and leadless pacemaker implantation, biventricular pacing and defibrillator implantation, supported by advanced 3D mapping and imaging technology. Most recently, our teams can now perform pulse field ablation (PFA), a minimally invasive procedure that uses brief electrical impulses to help treat heart arrhythmias.
